Equivalent to FrameMaker custom markers?

Post by mel_w »

Hi,
I've searched, but I think I must be using the wrong keywords--or this feature may not exist.

Is it possible, in Flare, to insert something equivalent to FrameMaker's custom marker, and to run a report that indicates where those markers are used in a project?

I looked at file tags, but I need more granular reporting information--down to the header and paragraph level (I believe you can only assign file tags to files, not to content within them?)

Thanks.

I don't think so - I'm pretty sure this type of reporting in Flare only goes to the file level.

You can generate a specific class or condition for that purpose. You can generate reports about those elements.

You can't generate reports about specific styles or classes, or even used styles; only things like unused or undefined styles.

You can generate reports about conditions (Applied Conditions, Files with Condition tags), which would tell you which file the condition is used in. I'm not sure it would offer any improvement over reporting by file tag, as the reporting information is still not granular down to what tag it is applied to within the topic.
