Hi,
I am using the pagecount variable in the footer of the pagelayout used for the topic pages. When generating the document, PDF, the last page shows, very correct, the number of pages of the document.
The document exists of a frontpage, a second page, a TOC (tocproxy) page, and all the topics. The page numbering is started at the TOC page with number "1".
When reading the document, at the bottom of the second page, a single <p> tag is used to indicate the number of pages of this document, like "Number of pages = 123".
When inserting the variable {PageCount}, and generated the PDF, it always shows "Number of pages = 1" instead of the actual number.
How to show the total pagecount on this second page, without having to enter it manually?
I have noticed if the pagecount variable is used in the footer on the second page it shows the correct number of pages. Is the pagecount variable only to be used in the footer?
For now I redesigned the second page so it contains a very big footer that includes the text and also the pagecount variable. But this feels like creative designing in stead of correct functionality of a variable.
Greetings,
René Severens.

How to show the total pagecount on the second page?
"The numbers are strange today; they somehow do not seem to add up."

I have the same problem - with the twist that I want the PageCount on the Cover/Title.
