Dash above TOC in WebHelp

Post by LindaW »

In my WebHelp output, I have a small dash in the header above my TOC. I have searched through my Skin and can't find anyplace where I might have inadvertently added a character - I just can't get rid of it. In fact, I don't find anyplace where that area can be formatted at all. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

This is in the skin; open the Styles tab and check the settings for your AccordionItem styles.

It's covered in Flare's help here:

Just to clarify, you at some point put a dash in the label name for the TOC accordion. Normally it would say TOC (default) or you could change it to say Contents.

no - the dash is not in the accordian area. It is in the header area - above the navigation pane. So, above the area where my Contents are displayed (or if Search or Glossary is selected, then above those results).

This is in the header, to the left of my site navigation. The blank area above my left navigtion pane.

I've included a screenshot to show where the dash is.

Skin Editor > Styles > AccordionItem > TOC > Properties > General > Label > "Here's where your dash should be"

Good luck,

I'm having a little trouble explaining exactly where this dash is. My acccordian items are fine. The dash is in the header, at the top of the screen, above the navigation pane, which in my WebHelp is on the left.

This section of the header should be blank - I don't see anyplace in the skin where I can edit this section.

It is just a stray character, but I sure would like to make it go away!

i think it's a font size problem. if i double-click the "dash", i get a right-click menu option of "search google for 'contents'" or 'search' or 'glossary', like i would with any word i right-click on in firefox. look here for font sizes for the label for each accordion item.
Skin Editor > Styles > AccordionItem > TOC > Properties > General > Label > "Here's where your dash should be"
if not there, it might be in the stylesheet.

Got it !! thanks for all the help1

It was in the skin - Styles/Toolbar Item/ Accordion title - the font was set @ 2 px - way too small - I've changed it, and now it is displaying properly.
thanks!
