Strange resize event when opening WebHelp as popup

Post by Aineko »

hi,

I'm having here a WebHelp export from Flare 7. I'm opening it in my JS code using just window.open(url, 'blank', 'width=500,height=500').
Now trying this in Google Chrome or IE 9, the popup opens for a short moment with the right size. But just as the actual WebHelp is loading, it gets a resize and centers to the screen with totally different size (more like 1000x800px). This does not happen in Firefox.

Anyone noticed this behavior?

Other people have also noticed this, but i don't think there is a solution. it is a browser problem.

Reading the other posts, I still don't get it, why its a browser issue, and not a Flare. Cause the additional resize/reposition takes place, after "my" window.open is finished. So I assume its caused somewhere in the Webhelp code (i.e. MadCapAll.js, or somewhere in the skin related files), so maybe I had the chance to manually patch that behavior?

In your skin settings, what have you set on the Size tab?

I'm guessing you have not set Use Browser Default Size, in which case the the window will resize to the settings you've specified on that tab.
If you set it to use the browser default size, it'll stay the same size that you set in the window.open command.
