Keeping the line, hiding the outline

Post by pelikano »

Hi;

I want to do my traditional minimalist callouts, using Capture. That means text, with no outline or box or bubble visible around it, and a simple line from the invisible edge to the target.

I like the bubbles, but cannot figure out how to hide their edge. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks
P.

If you open the object's (bubble, text rectangle etc) property dialog (right click on object and select from context menu) you can set the background to transparent and the border width to ). In capture the border will still have a faint border, but if you save and open in another program the border is gone.

If you have the format and alignment toolbars visible you can set boreder width from the toolbar after selecting the object.

Steve, thanks for your reply.

Apologies for the Friday-afternoon haziness of my post. What I was trying to say was that I want the bubble itself to become transparent/hidden, while keeping the pointer/callout line visible.

I guess your instructions confirm what i already found: the properties in the dialog apply to both items, because Capture treats them as one object.

To get what I want, they would have to be separate.

Regards

There are 2 sets of properties, file properties and object properties.

When you are tying to make the callout background transparent and set the border to 0, make sure you select the callout. Otherwise the properties you are setting apply to the whole image.
