Default TOC Entries as Open/Expanded

Good morning,

I cannot find a way to set a TOC topic as automatically open/expanded when the parent TOC entry is selected. In the screen shot I included, I want the How To and Discharge a Patient to display when the Admission Discharge folder is clicked. However, I want the Optional Configurations folder to stay collapsed.

Is this possible? If so, how do you set it up?

i don't think this is possible, but you can submit a feature request here - https://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx

Since there's only the one topic under the How To book, what's the purpose of the book at all?

Just delete it, and the Discharge a Patient page will appear above the Optional Configurations sub-entry book.

(Unless your example is not exactly like your TOC actually will appear [more pages under How To?], in which case, never mind!)
