Is there a way to toggle the search frame or any other frame for that matter? We have a main site created with buttons on top without the side frame. We have a Search button on the toolbar and we have it opening on the bottom to use when necessary. is there a way to close the frame or have it toggle with the button?

Yes, add the ToggleNavigationPane button in the skin.
