What/how much difference will having a sound card make when making video tutorials with narration? Can I produce good audio as easily without a sound card?
Thanks!

What audio would that be? Does the audio come from existing files? If you want to record audio, you need a sound card. For using existing files maybe not. I'd try it out with a sample tutorial...or just buy a sound card. If you have a PCI slot available, buy one of the SoundBlaster Live cards or otherwise an external USB sound device. Just to give an example:

There is really no reason to go without a sound card.

I'm not sure how you could get any playback without a sound card. And I think it's pretty rare to find a computer without one these days...

Most PCs and Laptops have souncards on the motherboard.
Have a look around for two or more RCA plugs, one with a headphone icon and another with a microphone (looks like an old desktop mic).
