Help in hebrew language

Hello,

we have created a online help in the source language German.. In the past, we have translated this help in several european languages (EN, FR, ES).
Now we need this help in hebrew language. Is it correct, that this is impossible with flare?

Or is it sufficient to install a hebrew font and set the alignment to right.

Funny. We just had a request to include Hebrew translations as well and were busy investigating this yesterday. According to the Flare help:

Flare supports Unicode for all left-to-right English, Western and Eastern European languages, and double-byte languages. Only left-to-right languages are supported.

We're working with our translation vendor to try and find a solution. Currently, the only request is to include Hebrew in our printed documentation. We're single-sourcing our documentation using Flare, so ideally, we’d like to find a solution that allows us to continue to maintain all English content in Flare and potentially extract or output the content into a medium that supports Hebrew and can be generated into a PDF.

From what I read online, MS Word supports right-to-left languages, so my current workaround plan is to create a Word target and generate the output to Word. Unfortunately, when I generate the Word output using the existing TOC and page layouts that include header and footer frames, the header frames do not show up in the output and the footer frames (running page number) are not correctly formatted. In addition, if I attempt to generate it using our QSG page layouts (CD booklet size), none of the text appears in the output. But if I generate it using the page layouts for our manuals (A4 page size), it works. So, I created a Word template that mirrors the look/feel of our QSGs. I generate the Word target using the "manual" page layouts, and then copy/paste the content into the Word template. Not the ideal solution, but at least doesn't require that we maintain two different sets of source content (the main reason we are using Flare in the first place).

Flare doesn't support bidirectional text in its editor, and its PDF engine also doesn't understand right-to-left text.

However, it won't mangle existing HTML files with right-to-left text. As you thought, you'll have to make sure that the paragraphs containing 100% Hebrew text are are right-aligned. You can use Notepad to insert the Hebrew text after you've created the template. After you open the file, right-click anywhere and select Right to Left Reading Order.

If you absolutely need to make a printable PDF containing Hebrew from Flare, I suggest copying and pasting one word at a time so that it "looks" right as you view it. You can use a lowercase 'i' letter between words to manually force the text direction. Note that this is a TERRIBLE idea overall, since it breaks copy-paste and would ostensibly wreak havoc with accessibility tools like screen readers.

We are considering purchasing MadCap Flare for our Hebrew and English documentation.
We want to write in Flare and produce PDFs.
Do you know if Flare works smoothly in 2019 with Hebrew?
Do you know of anyone who uses Flare for Hebrew documentation?

They claim to support it now, as long as you don't want to output to DotNet Help or FrameMaker.
