I wonder when those of us with Flare 7 will get the download links for Flare 8?

I got mine last night - so they are definitely rolling them out - maybe worth a support email if you've still not received yours.

Getting Flare 8 requires having a maintenance contract. MadCap sends out the download emails to its maintenance subscribers in a rolling fashion. Can't have everyone hitting their servers at the same time. I didn't get my email until last evening, while a few of my colleagues got theirs early afternoon.

We have a maintenance contract. We've also had severe problems with Outlook. I want to make sure that email didn't get lost when our email crashed.

I actually assumed you did indeed have a contract, Craig. I mentioned it for the benefit of others. Yesterday someone wondered why, upon starting up Flare 7, there wasn't a message letting them know there was a update ready for downloading. That's 'cause there is no update to Flare 7. There's a whole new release, for which one either purchases a new license or is entitled to by virtue of having a maintenance contract.
Kindly forgive me if I've anyone feels I'm stating the obvious.

Meh. Sometimes the obvious needs to be stated. I am finding that is the case more and more.

Aw, so if I just bought Flare 7, but didn't buy maintenance, I won't get anything more current? Do they continue to make updates to 7 or do they abandon it?

Typically MadCap doesn't continue to put out new minor releases of older versions, once they've released a new version. I wouldn't expert there to be any more dot releases beyond 7.2. But I'm just speculating; I've got no insider knowledge.
I suggest that you talk to MadCap about your options.
