Adding Meta descriptions for topics

Trying to figure out why metadata is showing up as search result abstract only with a limited number of topics. I followed the instructions in the Help, and still nothing appears: Content Explorer | select topic | properties | Topic Properties tab | Description. According to the Help, even if I don't insert info in the Description field, the first text found in the topic should appear in the search result abstract. Alas, ain't happening for me...
Additional info:
1)The project is mostly imported from RoboHelp.
2)Output- HTML5

Turns out there was an additional and superfluous schema in the code. Deleted the schema and HTML5 output search results now display abstracts correctly.
