Hi all,
Pretty simple, is it possible to rename files within Flare based on the heading level or topic name, TOC label etc?
I've got a few recycled topics that have had name changes but the original filename is still there, and a few topics that have a messed up filename entirely and I'd like to clean it all up.
Options?
Thanks,
Nick.

You can rename files within Flare's Content Explorer and the File List. You will be prompted to update all links (TOC, any hyperlinks, etc.) that reference that topic--a must so you don't end up with a ton of broken links.
It's not automatic. You'll have to do the typing. You can copy/paste the topic titles.

Yeah thats what I was afraid of......having to do the typing. With over 1500 topics its lengthy process to find the ones that are named incorrectly.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I don't know of a way to do inside Flare automatically, but you could do this via a very simple script in [insert your scripting language of choice]. You simply would have to parse the content folder, look for the heading and then save the file out with that name. You could do all 1500 of your topics in seconds this way. You would need to update the TOC however, which could make things a bit trickier, but not that much harder to do.nickatwork wrote: Pretty simple, is it possible to rename files within Flare based on the heading level or topic name, TOC label etc?
