Hi,
I'm using Flare v7.2 now and something that drives me crazy in the Target Editor is that even though you can resize the window, the actual editing space remains fixed.
I have a lot of variables and it would be really nice if when I made the window bigger, I got more real estate for my variable definitions.
Can someone using v8 tell me if this has changed? It is a big enough irritation for me that I might consider upgrading just to get this.
Thanks,
Kath

Re: Question about v8 Target Editor
The "Definition" window for variables appears to be a fixed length in Flare 8.0, with definitions scrolling out of view to the left as you enter content that exceeds the visible limit (approx. 32 char.).
Re: Question about v8 Target Editor
Thanks for the reply Doug.
After posting this my IT department informed me that we were able to upgrade, so I've been playing with v8.
Just for the record, the difference in the Target Editor appears to be that it will now resize horizontally and will automatically stretch the width of the variable definition column based on what's been entered (to a maximum as Doug describes). However, the vertical remains fixed at about 18 rows.
So some improvement but not perfect. Just about what to expect from an upgrade.
Thanks,
Kath

Re: Question about v8 Target Editor
Sorry - clarification. It appears the maximum width can be much longer than 32 characters. I found one I have that is quite long (155 characters) and it shows the full line. The width defaults to the maximum definition length - even to point of completely hiding the comments column.
Just FYI.

Kath
