setting same condition for multiple paras in the one topic

Post by JohnMac »

Hello, this is my first foray into the world of user community for Flare... a very novice user level is all I can claim.

I know how to set an individual paragraph to a condition that will get me the right output result (well I think I do ) but I cannot see how to select multiple paragraphs in a single topic and set them all to the same condition.

I should say that while I do understand the concepts of single sourcing I am not a tech writer (actually a senior PM filling in as the writer :( because we dont have one free)

Please don't flame me if there are 148 replies to this question already, my only defense is that it is my first post :)

two options:
Apply the condition to each paragraph block.
Select the text spanning multiple blocks if necessary, go to Format > Conditions.

If desired you can wrap the paragraphs in a DIV and then set the condition on the DIV. This way it's also easier to remove the condition later (if that's something you might need to do).

???
I get the conditions inside the p tags , if I simply select the text in those paragraphs by moving the cursor with left mouse button down - it's not necessary to select one by one. It's not even necessary to select the paragraphs from start to end - you can start in the middle of a paragraph and end in the middle of another paragraph.
Then I can assign Format | Conditions and: Voilà.

I had a similar question that was answered at the Roadshow ;) I knew you could apply a condition to a single word yet the only way I knew to apply a condition tag was to right-click the "blocks" and select the conditions option. Here's what you need to do:

Select the text you want to tag with a condition.
Open the "Home" ribbon.
Click the "Conditions" icon. (It may look different depending on the size of your monitor but it's a red/blue/green icon in the Attributes section of the Home ribbon.)
Select one or more condition tag(s) and click "OK."
