Hi,
I translated a Flare 7.1 Project from English to Simplified Chinese - The output format is "Compiled HTML Help file (.chm)" - , but the TOC file is displaying only invalid characters, like:
????? ????? ????
?????????? ????? ??
??????? ?????
???????? ?????
?????????????
??????
If I change the output format to WebHelp the TOC displays the correct Chinese characters.
I cannot find a solution to fix this problem.
I have already tried:
1. Change the the TOC font on Style to "SimSun"
2. Check the .fltoc encoding
3. Compile the help in a native Simplified Chinese Operation System
Does anyone know a possible solution for this problem?
I really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
João

Re: TOC error on Chinese CHM file
Do you have the appropriate language packs enabled/installed on your PC? This used to be a problem for us on occassion, and installing the language pack usually fixed it.
Also, you said you built the CHM on the Simplified Chinese OS. Did you view it from this OS, and it was still a problem? (Just curious, because I'm assuming this OS would automatically include the correct language packs, thereby eliminating my first theory.)

Hi,
I already had such kind of problem.
You need to set the project language to Chinese.
If you do this, you can generate and read correctly the Chinese CHM file, without being on a Chinese PC.
