Issue rendering Full Motion Video frames in v8.x/IE9

Post by JohnB »

Hi -

We have video content captured in Mimic and embedded in Flare topics as SWF. The company recently upgraded to IE9, and now any Full Motion Video (FMV) frames (a.k.a. drag and drop sequences) completely lose resolution during video playback in our WebHelp output and even in Preview mode. We are using Flare 8.

Here is a screen shot of one of our FMV frames in action:

The issue apparently is limited to rendering in IE version 9; Firefox is unaffected. Unfortunately, our documentation is mostly for in-house consumption, and IE is the only accepted browser.

I've reported a bug and am wondering if videos with full motion frames captured using a tool other than Mimic exhibit the same behavior. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks! - John
