For PDF output using Flare 8.1.1.
I've created TOC Proxy in a topic and inserted it into my outline TOC. The problem is that, in the generated PDF, the contents itself is listed among the contents of the document.
The document has a title page, then the contents topic (where the TOC proxy is). The contents lists:
Contents ...... 3
About xyz...... 1
Using xyz ... 4
Getting help ...9
The Target is set to "Use TOC Depth for Heading Levels"
How do I get the contents page itself - the TOC Proxy - to NOT be listed among the contents?
Thank you!
Contents appearing in Contents
Re: Contents appearing in Contents
Presumably the title of your Contents topic is using an H1 like all your other topics. You need to use a style where mc-heading-level is set to 0 (this is in PrintSupport in Advanced mode in the stylesheet editor). You can create a special H1 style like h1.contents and use that (if you want this header to look the same as your H1s, but just not display in the TOC), or you can use a different style like p.Contents or something and style it how you like.

Is there any way to have the Table of contents entry not appear in the proxy but still have it show up as a PDF bookmark? It appears that it's both or neither unless I'm missing something.

I create the bookmark in Acrobat. It takes just a couple of seconds.
