We create a WebHelp file that gets shipped with our software. Through the use of screen link IDs and the Alias file, we map help content to the corresponding screens, which in turn display help icons our customers click to view help.
Issue: Various features within our base software require customers to have separate licenses; for example, Customer A is licensed to our base package of 1, 2 and 3, while Customer B is licensed to 1, 1a, 2 and 3. Development has asked me whether we can set help content so that Customer A sees only the base package, while Customer B sees the base package plus 1a.
Is it as simple as my placing a condition tag on 1a content, and everything falls into place from there? Below is a comment from development:
"You already know what to do from your side, condition some help based on tags. What we need is to understand if these tags are powerful enough for us to communicate with them and set them on or off from our software."
Thanks for any thoughts you're willing to provide.

The conditions in Flare control what's included in the output, and that includes what appears in the search and index. I don't think you can do this from your app into Flare.
What you could do is have multiple outputs, and which version of the help is installed with your app depends on the license type they have. If they upgrade to a different license, then you replace the original help with the appropriate version of the output.

Thanks very much. I'm probably a bit out of my element in this discussion, but development never has been interested in anything I build on my end. I've only needed to make sure the individual help topics are linked in the Alias file to the appropriate screen IDs and that all files are checked into TFS by the due date; nonetheless, I've forwarded your response to development and will await word and go from there. Thanks, again.
