Question about Flare dictionary
Does the "Add to" function of the dictionary function on a project-by-project basis, or across all projects within Flare?

Re: Question about Flare dictionary
Hey Craig...
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's on a project basis.

That's the feeling I'm getting, too. Thank you, Nita.

Re: Question about Flare dictionary
I am getting pretty tired of the dictionary - maybe because I don't realize just how clever it was devised.

- Can I point to it from all my projects?
Can I import it from somwhere?

Re: Question about Flare dictionary
The dictionary file lives in Projects\Advanced.
Started as a newbie with Flare 6.1, now using Flare 2024r2.

Re: Question about Flare dictionary
I would guess that you could have a "master" dictionary stored someplace and then with Flare's External Resources feature, you can add the dictionary to a project. Now, it'll be a local copy of the dictionary, but you can set up the mapping to sync with the "master". If you make a change to the "local" dictionary, the "master" dictionary will be updated, too. Caveat: This is in theory. I've never tried this, but I'm pretty sure it would work.LarsLyhne wrote:

Alternatively, you can have a "master" dictionary in a global project that you import into your local projects. The advantage is that all local projects will have the same dictionary. The disadvantage is that if you need to add terms to the dictionary, you'd have to do so in the global project not the local projects, and that's not terribly convenient.

Re: Question about Flare dictionary
Yes, there are two main ways to import files; see the help links below:LarsLyhne wrote:

- project import (also called global project linking)
- external resources
