Situation:
My company has several products. One of the products will soon work like an add-on to one of the other products.
Think of any Microsoft program (e.g. Word) and the Snag-It add-in.
Question:
What would be the best way to handle putting the two helps systems together?
I am thinking of having the "add-in" help system be a subsystem (e.g. in the subsystems folder), but if the "add-in" product was updated, could we simply update the subsystem help?
We always want the add-in product to have a separate development life cycle so being able to update the add-in help independently from the main help system is important.
The other approach would be to have the "add-in" help system as it's own separate help system, and I would talk to the developers about that.
