I've got what I think may be a bug, but I thought I'd throw it out here first.
I'm creating my page layouts and stylesheet mediums for PDF output. And I'm trying to figure out page numbering in the footers. The default position for the PageNumber varible appears to be centered, and I know that you can't apply formatting to a variable. I want the numbering on the First and Right pages to be right aligned, and the numbering on the Left page to be left aligned. I've already found several forum threads that explain that the way to do this is to drop an invisible table into the footer. That worked fine, and I've not got my right or left-aligned numbers. Except that now the pages in my test project are all numbered the same (for example, I get a PDF where the number at the bottom of every single page is 48).
I'm on Flare 8, so I'm not sure if this is a new bug that has appeared with version 8, or if there's some additional step that I'm missing? I'm suspecting bug, as I can't imagine a reason why the PageNumber variable would not increment inside a table (and if that was the problem, shouldn't every page be numbered 1 instead of 48?).
Page numbers in PDF output not incrementing
Re: Page numbers in PDF output not incrementing
Are you sure you selected the page number variable and not the total number of pages variable?

Re: Page numbers in PDF output not incrementing
Is this in the PDF output, or during a quick preview? I've found the quick preview does some odd things occasionally.
You may also want to simply go back to your templates and recreate your table in the footer. Reinserting the page number system variable may fix the issue.

Re: Page numbers in PDF output not incrementing
The variable is System.PageNumber and I'm seeing the problem in the generated output.
And the number isn't always the same. One PDF had every page numbered as "1" in another it was "48" and in another it was "50." The exact same test project, just tweaking my CSS, table styles, and the page layouts, then generating the PDF to view the changes.
I'm starting to think that I might need to go back to my old page layout, which seems to work fine when I tested it this morning. No idea why my new one is not behaving.
EDIT - Lisa got it! I only checked one page, which had System.PageNumber in the footer. One of the other pages did indeed have System.PageCount in the footer. D'oh!
Thanks Lisa!
