Hi,
I am very new to Flare and am currently evaluating the latest version.
I'm publishing to HTML5 output and have followed everything I can find in the help relating to highlighting search results, but cannot get this to work.
I've used the Style Sheet Editor to edit my stylesheet and import a SearchHighlight style from the factory stylesheet.
I've made sure that the text is black and the background is yellow and have saved it, but no matter what I do, when I compile the output, there is no highlighted text in the search results.
Can anyone please point out what I'm doing wrong?
I'm starting to run out of hair to tear out....
Thanks,
Feebeegeebee

Re: HTML5 output - Highlighting search results
Welcome to the forums!
Alas, although Flare 8's Help system does nothing to indicate that search highlighting is not supported in HTML5 output, others on the forum have reported that MadCap tech support says it's not supported. (You'll find mention of this in that long tome known as "Flare 8 Niggles" at http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... 13&t=14703.) It seems there is nothing you can do for the time being.
You might want to put in a feature request at https://www.madcapsoftware.com/feedback ... quest.aspx. The more folks who put in the same feature request, the more likely MadCap is to implement the feature, although not necessarily in the next release.
Sorry I couldn't help you otherwise.

Re: HTML5 output - Highlighting search results
Hi Nita,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
You've confirmed my suspicions that this isn't supported in Flare 8's HTML 5 output.
The search is the most important tool in the help and our customers will NOT like losing highlighted results.
I'm currently evaluating Flare against RoboHelp and given that removing highlighting search results is a backward step, I'm inclined to report it as a bug rather than a feature request. I'm unlikely to move to Flare until that is resolved.
Thanks again,
Feebeegeebee

Hi Feebeegeebee,
Can you use WebHelp? Search results are highlighted in Flare's WebHelp.
