Can I setup multiple indexes in Flare. For example, I want to use a general index for everything, but create a separate index for a set of merge field names.
The best example I can come up with is a cookbook. You have a general index and a Recipe Index. I have created mutliple Index topics, but don't know how to assign the "recipe" to the second index. I have looked in the documentation and the forums, but cannot find any information on this.
Thanks, Cheryl
Can you setup multiple indexes in Flare?
Re: Can you setup multiple indexes in Flare?
Flare can't do separate index files, so submit a feature request at http://www.madcapsoftware.com/bugs/submit.aspx.
The closest you could get to that now is to do two-level indexes. The "top" levels would be "General" and "Recipe" and perhaps "Ingredient". You'd then add the appropriate top- and second-level terms to your topics. So you could have a recipe for a Spinach Dip that you could enter as General:Appetizers, Recipe:Spinach Dip, and Ingredient:Spinach. When you generate the output, the user will see the three top-level entries of General, Recipe, and Ingredient. They can then expand one of those entries to see its second-level entries. For example, if the user expanded Ingredient, they'd see an entry for Spinach. You'd use the same two-level term combination (Ingredient:Spinach) for any other recipes that also contain spinach. When the user clicks on Spinach under Ingredient, then they'd see multiple recipes that use spinach, such as Spinach Casserole, Spinach Dip, Spinach Salad, etc.

I will submit a request.
And thanks for the suggestion. It will make the index huge, but I do see how it can work.

Re: Can you setup multiple indexes in Flare?
Sort of: You can apply conditions to the keywords and include or exclude those conditions in the target. that way you can get a different index for each target.
