One Word feature that does not seem to map to Flare is the tab rack. This is causing a problem because I have several hundred tables with titles above the tables that consist of a name (flush left) and an address (flush right) on the same line in <h5>.
Is there any way to duplicate this in Flare? The only workaround I've found so far is to add a table with two cells above every table. However with large tables, the header table is then frequently left on the previous page. Is there any way to split a large table without resorting to native xml editing or copying, inserting and deleting rows from a duplicate table? A recommended page break, perhaps?
Similarly, where table cells have a <p> paragraph style is there any way to remove the <p> bindings for the entire table, since I can't apply <td> tags to cells with an existing <p> binding?
Thanks very much,
RickH

Unfortunately yes, 2 columns is probably the only way you can get this done.
Instead of creating another table, why dont you try inserting a new row at the top of the existing table with 2 columns in it? You can then set a avoid page break after on the top row of the table. Are you using table stylesheets or any table styles at all?
You can probably use find/replace or a regular expression to do this. I had to do something similar when I imported my content with a lot of tables too. It was easier however because I had only 3 variations on the table heading text it wasn't a big problem.

Thanks Nick,
The header line has no borders and has a blank line after it. I've found it easier to use a separate table style with no external borders (and of course the two cells with no borders) than to try to get a table with external borders for line 3 and below only. Generally I can use DIVs to keep the two together but that seems to not work with tables extending over a page break? Have to admit I'm still finding Flare a lot more perplexing than html...

Re: Tab rack import from Word
I feel your pain, I used to spend quite a while fixing my tables after word imports
I don't know if you can not have borders on the top row/header of your table styles without manually coding it. Doesn't look like it's available in the tablestyle editor. If you can do tables with those borders then you can definitely fix your tables with a table stylesheet and find/replace without having to do it manually and it should solve your page-break issue too. I sorted all of mine with regular expressions and find/replace within Flare. As long as your tables are quite similar across the board then it shouldn't be too difficult - I saved myself days.
