Variable on an image

Post by Chella K »

Hi

I am creating a cover page (the first page of the document) and these are the components:
1. an image that covers the entire page
2. some texts (this will include variables as well) on top of the image

I need help with the 2nd item.

Can anyone help pls?

Ta

Have you created a page layout file? (if not head over to the Flare Help and have a read about them)
If you have, use the Frames to insert your image, and then another Frame for the text.

Can you also help with the following tasks. Also, pls let me know if I can attach documents thru this forum? Thanking you in advance.

Creating Header, Footer and heading styles.

1 Heading style - I have got the numbering and font style working but dont know how to get the tab stops working. The heading also has grey background. I did this by adding a Background but it only applies to the heading title but not the auto-number. How do I insert the background for the auto-number as well? I can show this in a Word doc but dont know how to attach a doc to this forum/topic.

You can't use tab stops in Flare in the same way as Word. You will need to set margin or padding sizes in the style sheet to your heading levels.
Not sure about the background colour on auto-numbered headings as I don't use them.

Thank you. Realised that Falre doesnt support tab stops after sending you the question. Will play around with the margins and padding as you've suggested. Thank you for your time and help.

More accurately, it's not Flare that doesn't support tab stops, but rather CSS that doesn't (unless I'm mistaken).

HTML, actually, although you can simulate a tab stop using CSS attributes on some HTML tags.
