I have the

breadcrumb trail in my HTML Help, but I don't want it in the PDF output. I've been through the Help and lots of video tutorials and can't seem to find how to make the breadcrumbs go away in my pdf while still keeping them in the html.
Anyone know how?
Thanks in advance,

Breadcrumbs in PDF Output
Re: Breadcrumbs in PDF Output
If your breadcrumbs are defined on your master page, then you don't need to worry about it -- they won't show up in your PDF because PDF output uses page layouts, not master pages.
If you put the breadcrumbs proxy within individual topics (then first I would ask why you didn't put it in the master page, but assuming you have a reason) then I think you'd have to use conditions to exclude it from print output. You could try setting the display to None for the print medium in the CSS but I think that may result in lots of annoying warnings when you generate the PDF. I'm not sure. If there's someone out there who has this situation maybe they could chime in.

Re: Breadcrumbs in PDF Output
Thanks, Whunter --
The problem is, the breadcrumbs ARE showing up in my PDF output, and I don't quite understand how they got there, let alone how to get rid of them! The breadcrumb proxy isn't in the topics at all -- it is in the MasterPAge but that shouldn't affect my pdf, should it?
Anyone else ever run across this problem?

Oh, hmmm. Sorry I don't have any ideas for you in that case. Maybe someone else has seen this.
Re: Breadcrumbs in PDF Output
You can set the breadcrumb proxy to display: none in the print medium.
OR
You can assign a condition to it that you eliminate in the print target.
Both ways should work ... although what you described is something I'd call a "bug".

Re: Breadcrumbs in PDF Output
Alternatively, check your PDF target and make sure you didn't specify that masterpage in the master page layout field. By default it should be pointing to a page layout file, not to the masterpage file, but the fields are similarly named so you might have inadvertently selected the wrong file in the target.
The only other way I could see the breadcrumbs making it into your PDF output is if you generated Word output first then converted that to PDF output. Word outputs can use the masterpage or page layouts, but PDF outputs only have the page layout option.

Not sure if this helps, but I thought I had the same problem. Turns out I was seeing the heading titles that I'd placed in my page layout headers/footers
