Can I associate different Page Layouts to individual topics?

Hello

I am looking into outputting via PDF for the first time (I usually do web only). I have a project that contains a front cover topic, disclaimer topic, then lots of other topics followed by a back cover topic. I want the front cover, disclaimer and back cover to use different page layouts to the other topics. Is this possible? I've tried to apply them using the page break settings in the topic properties (via the toc) but it seems to apply the back cover page layout to everything.

Can someone more familiar with PDF outputs help me on this please?

Assuming the page layout file has different pages of the type you need (e.g., Title, Normal, Left, Right), you need to apply chapter breaks for the TOC entries for the title page, inside title page, first pages of chapters, and the back page. As part of the TOC item's properties, you can say which page type you want that particular topic to start on.

Thanks Nita. Yes, I had been looking at Flare's help on the subject but couldn't get it to work. Turns out that I needed to shut Flare down and start again - everything worked as described then. I get these sorts of problems when I've built the help several times in the same day.

Setup your TOC the way you want, and create page layouts for each page type (cover, disclaimer, back cover etc.). Then in the TOC, right-click a page (say Copyright)--> Properties--> Printed Output and check the Start a new chapter document from the Chapter Break drop-down choose the page layout that you've created for the Copyright page. Thanks Flarenewbie...I'd already got it covered - it was just Flare playing up. But that should come in useful for other people on the forum.
