duplicate footer in output

Post by Gail C »

After I updated my footer proxy in my Web help online output and rebuilt it, the old footer is still there and the new footer is shown below it. The footer proxy is comprised of the product name variable and copyright date. In fact, some projects are showing multiple old footers, from previous builds. Is there a setting I'm missing when I generate the Webhelp output that would clear out the old footer?

First thing would be to clear your browser cache.
Try the webhelp in another browser and see if you get the same result.
Then, if it is still hanging around I'd start looking at the mediums in the CSS and in your master pages layouts to double/triple check the footer proxy is set as expected.
I'd also look at the master page in code view just to check what's there.
Also, look at your target and make sure you're using the right masterpage.

If all that fails. Delete the footer from your master page. Build your help. If the footer is gone entirely then put it back in and see if that fixes it.
