Images not manually resizing

For some reason, my print image style switched to thumbnails. After I finally fixed this maddening issue, I find that now I can't manually resize images. They just snap back to full size. I'm assuming this is either a project setting (?) or a style setting, but I can't figure out how to get back manual resizing. Any suggestions would be gratefully received before I pull all my hair out.

Probably you have set a thumbnail size in your stylesheet for that img class. I have thumbnails set in my CSS and any attempt to resize is instantly snapped back to the thumbnail size that I have set. Look for mc-thumbnail-max-width or height.

Fought with the mc-thumbnail styles for about 2 hours until I discovered that the Show All Images as Thrumbnails tag was checked. Unchecked the tag and now everything is good. That was annoying.
