In Italian {pageref} has no space between text and pagenum

Post by wilma »

Hello to every one, this issue is NOT happening in English, but in Italian.
In Englus I see: "on page 47" while in Italian I see: "a pagina47".
If I turn the project, the topic into Italian, the pageref text automatically appears in italian but there is no space between the word "a pagina" and the number, so the result is ugly.
It's not exactlyu a matter of style because in my MadCap | xref style, in mc-format says: ....{/color}" {pageref} {/i}

How can be solved it?

It's been awhile since I've looked at this, but I think you have to open the language skin in order to modify xrefs (and other fields) used for that language.

Hello Lisa,
yes, I've checked in the Dictionary (toolbar Tools, button Manage Language Skins) but it does not influence the {pageref} value. Inthe Formats section, Cross Reference I see:
- Format: Vedere \"{para}"\
- Format for Print: Vedere \"{para}"\ a pagina {page}
so, no {pageref} is used

While in my style I see:
- MadCap | xref, my CrossRefStyle, mc-format (print): {i}Vedi "{color DeepSkyBlue}{b}{paratext}{/b}{/color}" {pageref} {/i}
- MadCap | xref, my CrossRefStyle, mc-format (non print): {i}Vedi "{color DeepSkyBlue}{b}{paratext}{/b}{/color}"{/i}
so, just this cross ref is used, but WHERE I can modify the automatic content of {pageref} key??

There are some styles in the default skin in the Format tab, but I think those are just for online outputs and printing from online outputs. And I don't see anything comparable in the HTML5 skin, which I don't get. The default skin is the only other place I've seen where you could specify something for the xref format, other than the stylesheet and the language skin, so if you're using the default skin, you could check there.

You mentioned print and non-print -- did you also check in the default medium?
