It is amazing how crazy you can drive yourself when (1) you spend quite some time making complex additions to a style sheet, then (2) you associate the wrong style sheet to your project, and then (3) you spend far too much time thinking you've gone bonkers because your changes aren't showing up.
I have too many style sheets going on, but I fixed the problem.
Heavy sigh of relief.
