Possibly (probably?) everybody else knows about this, and I'm the only dummy. But in case I'm not, here's a little something that I discovered today:
Make a change to a Flare topic (or Snippet), by typing text, deleting anything, or inserting a graphic, then go through the sequence "File > Save all", "Build Primary", and "Publish Primary".
You can then see your project output with the change in place.
Make a change to a Flare topic (or Snippet), by inserting a blob of text by copying elsewhere and inserting in your topic, then go through the sequence "File > Save all", "Build Primary", and "Publish Primary".
You can then see your project output with the change NOT in place.
While you are scratching your head, wondering what you could possibly have forgotten to do, inspect your still-open project tabs, including the one for the topic you just (thought you had) changed. Notice that none of those tabs has the little asterisk beside the filename, that would indicate an unsaved change...
Now, return to your topic, which has indeed been changed, by all that text that you inserted two paragraphs above... Type a character somewhere, to actively dismiss the little icon from the end of your previously pasted text - yes, it's still there despite all the intervening activity. Again, go through the sequence "File > Save all", "Build Primary", and "Publish Primary".
You can then see your project output with the expected change in place.
Perhaps this is another of those Flare oddities that occur only on my machine (Windows 7, 64-bit laptop with Flare 8.1.2).
But if it's generally the case, then some people might appreciate being saved some head-scratching and frustration.

Re: Pasted text not publishing until paste icon is gone
I can't reproduce this myself; anything I paste (using any method) will cause the topic to change, and the file name to be marked with an asterisk (*).
Might be worth contacting support.

Yes, of _course_ it will be marked with an asterisk.Dave Lee wrote:I can't reproduce this myself; anything I paste (using any method) will cause the topic to change, and the file name to be marked with an asterisk (*).

And then you do Save all.
And the asterisk goes away.
But if you did not make any change to your topic _after_ the paste, then the Paste Options icon remains visible... EVEN after Save all ... AND through BUILD and PUBLISH.
And if the Paste Options icon is still there, then the pasted info is not picked up in Build and Publish.

Yep, I did do all that, but can't reproduce it.
For me, the pasted text does appear in the output, whilst the paste icon is still visible in the editor.

Re: Pasted text not publishing until paste icon is gone
Maybe it's my environment.
My source files all live on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Virtual Machine instance, somewhere.
When I'm (rarely) working direct from my laptop, it's a Windows 7 Pro 64-bit machine, running the Flare 8 app locally against the remotely located project files.
When I'm (most often) working via Remote Desktop, it's connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM instance, running Flare 8, that is not on the same subnet as my laptop, and not on the same subnet as the VM containing the project files.
Maybe there's something in that mix. The issue was repeatable, even through some shutdowns/reboots of:
a) my laptop
b) the two VMs
Anyway, sorry to sound snappish. Your first example implied that you weren't paying attention to the meat of the thing. But I see you were.

No worries, didn't sound snappy.
Bit of a strange one, unfortunately I don't have any ideas.
I did initially think it might be due to 'track changes' being on, but then you'd see no changes at all in the output, not just the pasted text.
