Word seems to ignore Cover.flpgl

Post by efb »

I created several page layouts for a PDF target. They all work fine. I am now using those page layouts to generate a Word document for review. Word seems to ignore the Cover.flpgl file. It outputs the text in the cover.htm topic, but doesn't use the cover page layout. In the TOC, cover.htm is the first topic. Its properties are:

Break Type: Page Layout Break
Page Layout: cover
Page type: Normal
Auto-end of left page: Enabled

I'm wondering if Word can't use this page layout because of graphics in decoration frames. Anyone experience a similar problem?

I use it a lot, but I have set the Break type to Chapter break.

Wil,

That didn't do much different. Still doesn't get the formatting and the graphics. Think I'll switch over to tech support for assistance.

For anyone reading this thread, the answer from Tech Support is:

Decoration and image frames are not supported for the Word output which means if there are images inside these frames, they will not show up in the MS Word output. Please also check to see if changing it from a "page layout" break to "Chapter Break" helps with getting the Cover page layout to show up in the output. To include images in a page layout file for the Word output, it is best to include them inside of the header or footer frames.
