HTML5 Output Broken Links

Post by RonM63 »

Greetings

I am building an HTML5 project, and when I test it (I use Xenu Link Sleuth 1.3.8 ) broken links are reported for the following:

file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Styles.css
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/Find.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Resources/Scripts/PIE.htc
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)

file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/TextEffects.css
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/navigate-previous.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/navigate-next.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/expand.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/collapse.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/printer.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/login.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)
file:///C:/Users/ron.monson/Desktop/AOI v5/Output/HTML5/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/edit-profile.png
\_____ error code: 2 (file not found)

None of these are used in my output, so I am presuming they are default settings buried somewhere in the software. Please could someone help me locate where these settings are stored so I can fix the links? I pride myself on doing the job right first time... so, although not a high priority, I would nonetheless like to get it sorted...

Thanks

Ron

Further testing - I have found most of them and removed the default image. However, XENU still reports broken links on the navigate-previous, navigate-next, printer, and find files. i have checked the output folder and the images are all present and accounted for - therefore i am getting false broken status. the only one that does appear to be broken is the pie.htc, which appears to have something to do with using feedback. texteffects.css is looking for the pie.htc in the Resources folder (which doesn't exist). So - can anyone tell me how to fix this true broken link?

This query can be closed.

The two mentioned CSS files are looking for folders which exist at a different level than what the CSS is calling. I have raised this as a bug with Madcap. A workaround is to manually edit the output CSS files and point them to the correct level of the folders.
