snippets with tables

Flare 6.5 does not seem to support multi-line snippets containing tables - at least, the "Format/Create snippet from content" menu option is grayed out. Is this supported in later Flare versions?

In Flare 7, you can't create a snippet that contains a table directly. As you say the option is greyed out. But you can create a snippet without the table then edit the snippet to add the table later on. It's just not quite as nice as being able to do it all in one go.

I have reported a bug. You may like to do the same. If enough people report something, it is more likely to get fixed.

In V8, you can click on the Table Block bar to select the entire table > Right click > Create Snippet.

It is true that you cannot create a snippet of Paragraphs followed by tables followed by paragraphs etc.

You can create an empty snippet, copy any of the above and paste it into the snippet.

Which is odd because the toolbar button is disabled. I'd like to mention that you have to use the block context menu.

In Version 9 this doesn't appear either. You can still right-click on the table block and create a snippet, but you can't use the toolbar icon.

Isn't it nice how they preserve things like this, release after release after release....

Some day, I'd like to see MadCap publish their secret survey results that show the majority of us answered:

- Prefer to see new fluff features in each release

versus

- Prefer to see bugs fixed and code stabilized, and maybe some new features if there's time
