Why is the drop down option greyed out?
Why is the drop down option greyed out?
I select text in a numbered list, from which there are subsets that I want to add to a drop down list. The drop down option on the 'insert' ribbon is greyed out. In fact, all options are greyed out when I select more than one line. I am using MadCap V8. How can I create a drop down in a numbered list?

From the Flare Help, Inserting Drop-down Text topic: "3. Highlight all of the paragraphs that you want to become the drop-down text, including the first paragraph, which will contain the hotspot."
It seems that list items don't qualify as paragraphs.
Good luck,
Leon

You'd need to insert a paragraph tag on the list item.
To add a paragraph tag, press Ctrl+; , then you can insert add a drop-down.

If you do not have an english/american keyboard layout, you will have to use a button in the toolbar:Dave Lee wrote:To add a paragraph tag, press Ctrl+; , then you can insert add a drop-down.
