Hi,
While generating a Word output, I find there is too much space between the bullet and the text that follows. Also, the hanging indent does not come below the text; it comes below the bullet.
For example:
* blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah
is what I get.
* blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah
is what I want.
I have tried playing around with the text indent property but not got any success. What is the property where I should set this?
Any help in this regard would be much appreciated.
Thanks
TeSol

Re: Space between bullet and text
First, you have two threads on this topic. You may want to delete one of them.
Second, I believe the bullet-to-text margin is set by the list-style-position property and hanging text is set by the mc-multiline-indent property.
Also, and sorry if you already know this, make sure the Medium is set to Print in the Stylesheet Editor. Otherwise your settings are ignored and your frustration level increases exponentially.

Thanks for pointing out about the duplicate threads. However, when I looked I saw only 1 - perhaps the moderator removed the other one.
Unfortunately, the list-style-position property did not set the space between the bullet and the property correctly. There are 4 options for this and I tried all of them.
And for the hanging text which is set by the mc-multiline-indent property, I could not even find that anywhere in the css.
Would appreciate if you are able to provide any further inputs to help me solve this issue.
Thanks and regards,
TeSol.

Re: Space between bullet and text
Sorry, I didn't take the time to check these settings and I should have.
To adjust the space between the bullet and text, use the text-indent property. If you want all your lists the same, set this property for the li style. If you want bullet lists different than numbered lists, set the property for ul and ol, respectively. In the attached image, I have it set for 1 px.
To adjust the alignment of hanging text to the bullet/number, set the list-style-position property. In the attached image, I have it set for outside, i.e., the bullet/number is outside the text. Your description sounds more like the inside setting.

Re: Space between bullet and text
No luck
.
Property text-indent when set to 1 px as you have done is giving me way too much space. And the hanging indent too does not work though I set the list-style-position property to outside.
I am on Flare v7.2.1. Are you on a higher version? Just wondering if there is a bug in my version which Flare has rectified.
Thanks again for all the help.

Yeah, I'm using Flare 8. Would it be possible for you to post your CSS file?

Re: Space between bullet and text
You probably have conflicting local styling going on here, in addition to multiple style sheet issues. Try separating yourself from it by testing on a clean environment.
See the http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_list.asp site with the "Try it yourself" dynamic interface. You might find that if you remove all specific styling from your project, and just let the HTML and CSS protocols take over, you'd be fine.
Good luck,
Leon
