applying conditions to multiple files

I have a single project that is used to generate 5 different role-based deliverables. Lots of content sharing so lots of conditions. I need/want to apply conditions to the images so I don't get hundreds of files in the output that are not really used in the content. Is there a way to apply a single condition to multiple files without going file by files? I tried to put a condition on the folder, assuming that if the folder was excluded, its contents would be too. Bad assumption.

In the Content Explorer pane, click the second icon from the left (Show Files). You can select multiple files in this new pane.
