I imported a Help and Manual file by exporting the Help and Manual file to a .chm file, then I imported that file into Flare. For the most part, it has been working OK. It imported as tables and I have deleted those along with the <span> tags that are causing a lot of trouble in the output.
I give this background just in case it means something, but the real problem is with some of the topics. In a few of my topics I am not able to view a scroll bar in the topic window pane (the place where you write the content). There is text below the portion of the window that I see and it is available in the output. I cannot even use my directional keys to move the screen down. I am able to reach the text using the directional keys, but that does not do me any good for editing purposes. When I delete content, the hidden information moves up the screen. I have tried deleting all of the information in the topic and starting all over. I am reluctant to delete any topics because they are linked to others and most of the links created in the Help and Manual file work well. I am under a very tight deadline so a new topic is not the best option (maybe not an option at all).
My biggest concern is that my entire file is corrupt and I will have to start all over again
Thanks for your help!

Re: Unable to View Scroll Bar in Topic Window in Flare
Since this was imported, you might want to open the topic in the Internal Text Editor and see if the html or body tags have the overflow property set to hidden or whatever the value is that cuts off the content. Or see if there's a height attribute set that's limiting the height of the topic.
Those attributes may have been put in the stylesheet file as part of the import, too -- not sure about that, but you could always open the stylesheet file in the Internal Text Editor and look through it, too.
Those are the only two things that come to mind -- that some attribute was specified inline in the topic (or the masterpage) during the import, or something was put in the stylesheet, either after the import or during the import.

Thanks. I looked at both of those things, but to no avail. I have contacted MadCap support. Maybe they can help me.
Re: Unable to View Scroll Bar in Topic Window in Flare
It looks like there is some kind of bug.

Re: Bug: Unable to View Scroll Bar in Topic Window in Flare
I still have this problem. Is there any fix?
Also, I can't even arrow down to see the bottom of the page.
Details; In most of my topics, I get no vertical scroll bar on the left. Sometimes if I'm actually in the text, the scroll bar will waver into existence, but if I move the cursor towards it, it disappears.
If I view the text version of the file, then return to the gui version, I am sometimes able to arrow down to see the bottom text.
These are not particularly long topics.
Help?!
Thanks.

Re: Bug: Unable to View Scroll Bar in Topic Window in Flare
I got the solution from a coworker. On the upper 'local' toolbar in an open topic in the XML editor, click the last right eyeball icon, and on the dropdown, uncheck Enable Object Positioning. This solved the problem. I had to do it on a few different topics to get it to 'take' on the project as a whole.

Re: Bug: Unable to View Scroll Bar in Topic Window in Flare
Do these topics have a lot of DIV tags in them or possibly one giant div that contains several other Div tags?
Possible the Body tag is missing?
Are you editing these topics with the editor in Layout (Print) and have tried changing the editor to layout (Web)?
Many times there is code in the output files that can cause Flare's editor to not display topics correctly. These should be reported as bugs when you come across them so MC can continue making improvements to the editor.
