ENER-G Group is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of “green energy” services and sustainable technologies.
We are currently looking for a creative Technical Author to document the new E-POWER CHP system.
You will work closely with our software development team to collate and understand technical information in order to produce costumer focused user documentation. You will be traveling between our Head office in Salford and development site in Horsham. As a hands on contributor you will use both your technical and communication skills and be passionate about delivering an excellent user experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
• previous experience as an accomplished Technical Author with a strong track record in creating user-friendly technical documentation
• extensive industry understanding
• a degree level qualification including technical communication principles
• designed and written user guides, online help tutorials, training materials, installation guides, commissioning guides and products descriptions for both technical and non-technical users
• the ability to meet deadlines
• excellent attention to detail and communication skills
• ability to work on own initiative
• competence in using the following: Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Mad Cap Flare, Adobe Frame Maker, Microsoft Word, HTML, PDF, Web based technologies, Graphical system, Corel Photo Paint, Snagit, Robo HTML, Paint Shop Pro, Corel Draw and Webworks Publisher
This is a temporary part time position starting ASAP, 2-3 days per week over 3-4 months; end date is flexible depending on completion of the project. Salary: £200 - £300 per day (depending on experience) plus travel expenses.
