In my Help ToC, I had a "Concepts" section.
Bosses/reviewers want it to go away. Its content is to be brought into other sections, mostly Admin & Maintenance which is ... big.
Now, those same bosses and reviewers want certain pages to be much easier to find. At the moment, they are two or three levels into their respective major Admin topic groupings.
I already have some index entries for the topics of concern. But when a user simply searches the most common term, they get maybe 316 hits, with the desired page down around 40th place.
I know what I'd be doing to bring a web page/site up in the SEO sweepstakes, but what are the approaches when it's "webhelp"/html5 help that is loaded only on the customer's file system... NOT on the web?
thanks,

I recently had a similar question about raising the visibility of specific task topics and settled for creating a table of common tasks on the intro page for the first section and included links to the most important task topics. I can't help thinking that giving more ways to find something is better than depending on the search function.

Outside the forums, somebody suggested the Flare Synonyms feature.
Looking into it for my purposes.

For offline, add words you want to be ranked many times to the topics you want and then make the color of the words the same as background. Observe for flare seach offline only. Google is considers this dopingkevinmcl wrote:In my Help ToC, I had a "Concepts" section.

Additionally, the Description field in the Topic properties might be able to help you bump topics up the ladder. If you open the Topic Properties dialog box, switch to Topic Properties, and click the ? in the top corner, you can find some information about that field and additional link. Just keep in mind that this information is used as the search abstract instead of the first few lines of text in the topic.
