Strange cursor behavior in the editor (Lingo V7).

Post by donpedro »

Is it just me or has anybody noticed the cursor jumping back and forth when editing in the edit field in the new Lingo V7?
For instance when I place the cursor in the middle of a word and begin typing, the cursor suddenly jumps to the end of the word or splits the word in two.

Are you by chance working on a laptop with a touchpad? Somtimes my had brushes the touchpad which causes undesired effects in my work. I haven't installed Lingo 7 yet, so I'm just taking a stab in the dark.

Know what you mean :) , but nope. I'm on a regular keyboard. Never had any problems in previous versions.
It's more like some hidden autocomplete feature run amok...
I'm gonna do a Mimic video and send to support.

Huh. Good luck with that.

You could check your Lingo preferences to see if there is an autocorrect setting you could turn off. Like I say, I don't have 7 installed, so I am taking shots in the dark.

Problem solved. :D

Apparently, toggling the INSERT key into the "wrong mode", creates the unexpected cursor behavior. Madcap has filed this as a bug.
As far as I know, this issue only applies to Lingo V7.
