Flare 9 XML Editor regularly crashing, anyone?

Hi:

This Flare versions 6 through 8 user has been using Flare 9 for a bit less than a week.

I'm experiencing noticeably more instability in the Flare 9 XML Editor than I experienced in previous versions.

During some editing operations, my display goes completely black for about 1.5 to 2.0 seconds. If I'm lucky, I'm returned to the XML Editor. If I'm not, Flare crashes and must be re-started.

I didn't have this problem with pre-9 versions of Flare.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been using v9 since its release and haven't experienced any issues like this.

Perhaps a reinstall of Flare (and maybe .net 4) is in order?

Today a lot, but off and on recently, my Flare 9 editor, both XML and text mode, goes... funny. Does not freeze. But suddenly CTRL+S does not Save--I have to click the Save icon. And the delete or backspace key suddenly stops working. And finally it gets to the point where I can't even type text. Closing Flare and re-opening it is the only thing that helps.

I don't recall this behavior in Flare 8. Same machine and Windows version, too. Nothing else has changed.

I'm also having problems with the delete and backspace functions in Flare 9. The following functions do not seem to work, even after restarting the program:

Delete, backspace, copy, paste, and cursor movement with the arrow keys.

What gives?

As the OP, I've had a lot of problems running Flares 8 and 9 on my ASUS laptop. More problems than anyone else, it seems.

My laptop works great with every other program so my laptop doesn't like something in Flare, or more likely .NET 4.

I recently re-installed .NET 4 and Flare 9. It seems to have reduced the frequency and severity of errors but not completely eliminated them.

That's evidently the most I can hope for as long as I use this computer.

Turns out I am running .NET framework 4.5.

I tried Rob's advice about hiding the ribbon, and this seems to have solved my keyboard problems.

Thanks pelikano for that information. Unfortunately, my problems began long before I upgraded to .NET 4.5.

I wish I'd known about the version 4.5 issues before upgrading, too…

The .NET 4.5 bug has been fixed in Flare 9.1.1.
Please download the latest version of Flare to get 9.1.1
