Flare 9.1 - Controlled Language/Simplified Technical English

Post by meggs »

Hello *,

Finally.....the function i'm waiting for years.
But i just can't figure out how to enable it. Searched the help-files, release notes, overviews, but nowhere a hint.
I've seen the screenshot in http://www.madcapsoftware.com/products/ ... rview.aspx , but i don't know how to activate this.

Perhaps someone can help?

thanks in advance and best regards

Ironic, I sent an email to MadCap this AM, because I couldn't find anything on this myself. If I find out anything, I'll let you know.

From what I gather you need to buy HyperSTE (http://www.simplifiedenglish.net/HyperS ... ce-Content) and then integrate it with MadCap's API... But I can't figure out how to even buy the tool/how much it costs in the first place!

Me too, there is not much information about buying HyperSTE.
It is a not good idea from MadCap to announce a new feature, which only works, if you buy a third-party software....

...let's wait for statement from MC

best regards, meggs

Hrmmm....
Is this going to be a case of "if we have to ask how much, we can't afford it"?

I just found out that it is expensive: 1 license: about €1800 and if you also need a industry-specific terminology dictionary (1000 terms) another €5000
I don't think that my boss likes that.
That's a pity because STE is good when you have to publish to non-English countries.

Also had a web-presentation by Tedopress, and the prices are real high (as Wil said + €8000 for a dict with 2000 terms, €3000 for the dict maintenance tool and €700 per year for maintenance by Tedopress).
Don't know why they combine a low-priced CMS with a high-priced checker software.

I'm wondering if anybody out there is already using the HyperSTE plugin.
