Floating Workspace Layout not saved correctly

Post by Rene Severens »

Hi,

I executed the next steps:
Start an existing project (for PDF in MadCap Flare 9.1.0) that contains several TOC's.
Opend a first TOC and floated this window onto the second monitor (desktop is set to expand main desktop of first monitor).
Next, opened a second TOC and floated this window and docked it to the right of the opened first TOC.
Next, opened a third TOC and also floated this window and docked it to the right of the opened second TOC.
Reason: I need to compare the TOC's to keep an overview of the positioned topics while re-writing for multiple products.
I clicked save layout and named it.
Now this looks like screenshot 1 (productnames removed):
Wanted workspace layout.PNG
Also noticed when resizing, the layout is not redrawn correctly:
Bug when resizing.PNG
And when closed the project and re-opened the workspace layout is not returned as desired:
Not wanted reopend workspace.PNG
Anyone having the same experiences and maybe a solution how to get this right?

Thanks,
Rene Severens

Until I saw your post, I wasn't aware that you could dock floating topics/other items into "clumps" outside the main Flare Window. So I tried it, and found exactly the same as you. When I reopened the project in that layout, the items that had been in the floating "clump" were open, but in the main editor window.

I'd report a bug if I were you.
