mc-caption-repeat and mc-caption-continuation

I cannot get "Table Caption (continued)" labels to work in my PDF target. We are used to this feature in FrameMaker and no one wants to give it up.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is what we want:

Table 1: Example Table Caption
page break
Table 1: Example Table Caption (continued)

I set the options as described in the online help and this is what happens:

Figure 1: Sample figure caption
page break
Sample figure caption (continued)

Autonumbering and bold are lost in the repeated caption.

If I set the properties that correct this behavior in <table>, it affects everything in a table, such as variables in my page layout headers and footers.

Has anyone set these successfully for table captions? I searched the forum and couldn't find much other than someone saying that it was a new feature in Flare 8.

I am having the exact same problem as chunkee. Does anyone know of a workaround?
