TOC Sync not working for some projects in merged HTML5

Hi all,

We have a number of merged projects which we are migrating to HTML5 output. When we do a search and click on a topic, the TOC synchronises for most of the projects, but for some, the TOC does not synchronise.

I've checked that all projects are using the same skin and target settings and there's nothing funny in the TOC.

Any other ideas of what to look for in my recalcitrant projects?

Ugh, after days of tweak-compile-run-tweak-compile-run I've discovered it's occurs for all topics after a "missing" output.

Say I have a TOC:

Parent help
--topic 1
--topic 2
--merged output 1
--merged output 2
--topic 3

If 'merged output 1' does not exist (e.g. the user doesn't have that product installed and thus this help has not been installed), then toc sync for 'merged output 2' and 'topic 3' stop working. Any topics before the 'missing' output will still sync correctly.

I've submitted a bug report.

We have the exact same problem. We have a master TOC which contains several entries for "optional" merged output that hasn't been installed and this causes the sync TOC function to stop etc. It works fine on WebHelp but not on HTML5 help.

Please submit a bug report, as the more offical noise, the more likely it will get fixed.

Is there a solution or a workaround for this problem? It still occurs in Flare V10

No it hasn't been fixed in Flare 11 and when I asked technical support, I didn't get a commitment to when (or if) it would be fixed. As stated earlier, please submit a bug report and hopefully this will increase its chances of getting fixed.

I've had some recent contact with Madcap support about this issue and it does not look like this will be getting fixed as the argument is that only three customers have reported this and they don't see it as a high priority. Very disappointed with Madcap over this.

Does anyone have a solution to this?
