Hello,
I am trying to make my dropDownHead style display in different colors depending on whether it is in online or print output. I have tried modifying this style in various ways (playing around with the default, print, and non-print mediums) but it seems that I can only have one color for both. I want a more visible, brighter color for my online output so that the dropdowns are more visible to users and they know to click the heading, but in the PDF, where the content is expanded anyway, I want these headings to appear black. Any thoughts?

Re: MadCap dropDownHead Style Ignoring Properties
Try editing MadCap|dropDownHotspot instead of MadCap|dropDownHead.
The 'hotspot' tag is for the link text, which is on top of the 'head' tag.

That worked.
Thank you.

On the same topic, do you know if there is a way to change the text that appears when you hover over a drop-down? Right now it says "Drop Down" but I'd prefer to say "Click here" or something to that effect.

Hi Keri
this subject was adressed in this thread.

If you just want to change "Drop Down" to "Click Here" I guess you could do a global search/replace on your output files.

Thanks for the reply.
Not really a great solution, but hopefully we'll get more flexibility with this in the future.

Re: MadCap dropDownHead Style Ignoring Properties
I've opened a request with MC Support to look into this, as well as another property that the dropdown styles seem to ignore--autonumbering. Still no response. Is anyone else using drop downs with numbered lists? There has to be a way to get this to work. Can someone please help? I can get numbered lists to restart using other styles created from the p tag, but want my dropdown heading to reset my lists so I don't have to create unnecessary lines of text to apply the p tag to.
Re: MadCap dropDownHead Style Ignoring Properties
I am also having the same problem; I cannot get my dropdown head (or hotspot) to work with autonumbering.
I changed my 'hotspot' to have autonumbering of {n+} which works fine and dandy in the editor. However, as soon as I try to 'preview' this, the numbers disappear. If I type them in manually they appear, but not with autonumbering. I thought it may just be a problem with preview and I had to 'build' my manual but to no avail; the autonumbers still won't show..
Hm.. a little stumped.
Any ideas anyone?
