My Content Explorer - GONE!

Post by erinep23 »

So, I was working on Mad Cap today (V8), when all of a sudden, my Content Explorer window just disappeared. I went to view and re-clicked it, and it won't open now. It appears enabled to open, but when I click it, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Have you tried to reload the layout? On the Window ribbon, click Reload Layout.

I don't see a "Reload" option on the Windows ribbon. Under "View" it shows that the Content Explorer is open. When I click it to close it (with the mindset that I can just reopen it), the entire toolbar becomes dysfunctional. I can't do anything. I have tried installing and re-installing, and repairing, and nothing has worked so far. Weirdest bug ever.

Thank you, that didn't work though.

Okay, I tried "Reset," and finally, that worked. THank you again for your help, I wouldn't have had the idea to do that if it wasn't for your initial advice.

I don't know why Flare sometimes totally loses track of its window layout. Whenever things seem wonky in the UI, one of the first things I do is to reload the layout. Sometimes I reload the default (factory) layout and then reload my custom layout. You shouldn't have to re-install Flare to get its window layouts to behave.
