I've been trying to install the 9.1.1 upgrade, but I keep getting the message "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel." I'm currently running 9.0.1.
However, I've been using Flare for two years now, and I've never had a problem upgrading (updating) before. The rest of the people in my department were able to install without removing the existing versions. I had Flare 7 and 8 installed, and uninstalled them, but this still won't let me install.
What am I missing?

Re: Flare 9.1.1 upgrade won't install
I think you need to uninstall Flare 9 first. I'm sure that's what I was told to do when I upgraded from 9.0 to 9.1.whatever.
Any version of Flare 9 should co-exist with Flare 7 and Flare 8 (and does on my PC), but not with another variant of Flare 9.

Re: Flare 9.1.1 upgrade won't install
I have installed MadCap suite 9.0 on a VM Ware Virtual Machine, to speed-up backup and maintanance of my environment.
Today, i've started as always my VM and run Flare.
The option for upgrading to version 9.1.1 is appeared and i have choosen to proceed to install automatcally the upgrade.
The operation is FAILED (i can't find the zipped file) and when i've restarted the VM, Flare was disappeared (while Mimic, Lingo and other modules not already activated was present).
I had a backup of the entire VM (7 of July backup) and tryed to start it (i have in another location the last version of my project), but when i run Flare under this backup copy, the licence code is requested.
But i have activated Flare on my PC in March!
Now, before to have problems with licences, i ask you to help me to find a solution.
I SUPPOSE that now, in Flare licences DB, is written that i have downloaded the upgrade 9.1.1 but the installation of this upgrade now is not possible on my backup VM.
What can i do?
Thanks in advance for you help.

Re: Flare 9.1.1 upgrade won't install
I assume you are planning to continue with your backed up VM? If so, when prompted for the license number, I would just enter it again. Does that work, or is there a problem with that too?
There are various reasons why Flare may think you need to enter the license number again, so I wouldn't worry about that unless it doesn't work!
But if you still have problems, MadCap support should be able to help you with licensing issues, and also with your problem in upgrading.
